The company was initially started in July, 2009 by Sam Cremin, LEED AP with the goal to help popularize cost-effective ways to reduce energy and water use. Previous to starting Green Tree, Sam was the Global Director of Marketing Communications at Molex, and had worked in a variety of product and industry marketing functions during his career there. Sam currently serves on the Board of Directors for Keats Manufacturing and the Japan America Society of Chicago. Green Tree Products and Technologies LLC is headquartered in Hinsdale, Il.
Key Events:
November, 2010: Green Tree finishes testing on its first contract design project, a thermal storage system accessory, using phase change materials. It was designed to conform with YourSolarHome’s SolarSheat™ solar thermal collector products. Co-developed with Dan Dixon, previously VP of Engineering at Molex, the system provides homeowners a compact means of collecting up to 3 hours of additional heat for use after the sun goes down and the collector shuts down for the night.
May, 2011: With the participation of Shun and Shin Kishioka, Green Tree Products and Technologies starts a joint venture with Phase Change Energy Solutions to service the Japanese market.
July 2011: Green Tree starts a Singapore company with Gary Choo to service the ASEAN market. Called Green Tree Products Asia Pty, Ltd, the Singapore based company is the exclusive stocking distributor for the Ciralight product in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. It also handles the Phase Change Energy products in the ASEAN countries as well.

Ken Yoshitani
Ken recently sold EME, LLC, a consulting engineering firm based in Chicago. A graduate of the UnitedStates Military Academy, Ken also has a degree in Nuclear Engineering from MIT and an MBA from University of Chicago. Ken is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.
Vic Zaderej
Masters in Engineering from MIT, Vic is the Director of Product Development for the Solid State Lighting Business Unit at Molex Inc. A holder of multiple patents in a variety of areas, Vic has helped design various highly energy efficient buildings, including his second home in Oregon, Illinois. Vic combines rigorous cost analysis with the simplest available technologies. He is constantly pushing down the cost per foot needed to build comfortable, super energy efficient homes. Now, they are closer than ever to the construction costs of traditional suburban home with annual energy costs that are many times higher than Vic's designs.
Shunichiro Kishioka
A Tokyo University Law School graduate, Shun Kishioka worked for various divisions of Mitsubishi's trading networks, before starting ITA Inc., in 1979. ITA conducts market research, provides consulting services for Japanese start-ups in the U.S., exports U.S. and European goods to Japan, provides translation service and bi-lingual computer networking/systems integration. ITA is now run primarily by Shun's son, Shin Kishioka. Since handing over operating responsibility for ITA to his son, Kishioka-San has started four different companies and written and published four books in Japanese. Active in the Chicago Japan-American community, Kishioka-San has served as Chairman of the Tokyo University Alumni Association, EVP of the Japan Chamber of Commerce in Chicago, and Co-Chair of the Japan America Society of Chicago.
